Hyderabad woman killed by husband over suspected affair
A woman from Odisha died after allegedly being attacked by her husband with a dumbbell at their residence in Fatehnagar, Hyderabad. Police said the accused suspected her of having an extra-marital affair. He has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway
Hyderabad: A woman died after being brutally assaulted by her husband at their house in Fatehnagar in Sanathnagar, police said on Wednesday.
According to Sanathnagar police, the victim, identified as Sasmita from Odisha, was allegedly attacked by her husband Chandrabhan, who suspected her of speaking to someone over the phone and having an extra-marital affair.
In a fit of rage, he allegedly struck her on the head with a dumbbell, causing severe injuries.
She was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Sanathnagar police have taken the suspect into custody and registered a case. Further investigation is on.
