Hyderabad: A woman was murdered, allegedly by her friend, at Jagadgirigutta on Sunday night.
According to the police, the victim J Kavitha (35) was living with her mother Pushpa at Jagadgirigutta for the last three years and was working at a private hospital while in the evenings, she ran a food stall.
She was recently in contact with one Yadaiah (40) and frequently moved around with him. However for a few days, she was avoiding him.
“On Sunday evening, Yadaiah went to her house and on not finding her, picked up an argument with Pushpa. He attacked her with a knife, injuring her and then left the place. On seeing Kavitha near her roadside stall, he attacked her on the neck with the knife, resulting in severe bleeding,” police said, adding that locals shifted her to hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
The public caught hold of Yadaiah and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
