The arrested persons were D Manikyam (42), a car driver from RC Puram in Sangareddy district and M Jyothi (26) of Gopanpally.

Shekhar and Jyothi were married for a decade and had three children. The couple met Manikyam at a construction site about four months ago and Jyothi developed an extramarital affair with him. They started talking over phone and when Shekhar learnt about it, he warned Jyothi.

According to the police, the suspects decided to eliminate Shekhar and on Sunday night, Manikyam procured poison, liquor and an axe. He took Shekhar to a secluded spot and after lacing drinks with poison, hacked him to death.
