Hyderabad: A woman who suffered grievous burns allegedly after a live electric wire cut-off and fell on her on Saturday at Nagaram in Keesara, succumbed while undergoing treatment in the hospital on Sunday night.

The incident occurred when the victim, identified as Mounika, a resident of Bapureddy Colony in Keesara, along with her husband Suresh and their three-year-old son Shreyas, were proceeding to their house on a motorcycle.

As per available information, during the heavy rains and winds that lashed the city, which included various parts of Keesara, a live electric wire from an electric pole got cut off and fell on Mounika. She suffered an electric shock and grievous burns. Suresh and Shreyas also suffered minor injuries in the incident.

All three were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital, where Mounika succumbed to burns on Sunday. Her husband and child are undergoing treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.

The Keesara police are investigating.
