Hyderabad: The Medipally police arrested a woman who, along with her two friends, planned and killed her husband ten days ago.

The arrested are J Purnima (36), Paleti Mahesh (22) and Bhukya Sai Kumar (22).

According to the police, Purnima lived at East Brundavan Colony along with her husband V J Ashok, who worked at a private university. On the night of December 11, Ashok died under suspicious circumstances at his house. Purnima had allegedly told the police that her husband died in the washroom and that there was no suspicion.

However, during the autopsy, doctors noticed injuries on Ashok’s cheek and neck. On suspicion, the police further probed the case and found that Purnima was in an illegal relationship with Mahesh.

“On December 11, Purnima and Mahesh, with the help of Sai Kumar, strangled Ashok to death when he returned home from office. Later, they changed his clothes and misled relatives by stating that the death was due to cardiac arrest,” said Medipally Inspector R Govinda Reddy.

All the three were produced before the court and remanded.
