Hyderabad: Youngster gets state-of-the-art limbs at NIMS
Hanamkonda student Gundeti Rahul, who lost both legs after being pushed from a train in Rajasthan, has received advanced prosthetic limbs worth Rs 10 lakh via the Telangana CM Relief Fund. NIMS doctors performed the surgery, enabling Rahul to walk again

Hyderabad: An intermediate student from Hanamkonda, Gundeti Rahul, who lost both his legs in a train accident in Rajasthan, has received state-of-the-art artificial limbs worth Rs 10 lakh, sourced through CM Relief Fund (CMRF), at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).
“Rahul would now be able to continue his studies and lead a normal life without any difficulty. I congratulate the orthopaedic team who performed the surgery on Rahul, including Dr Chandrasekhar, Dr Asif, Dr Lalit, and Dr Sandeep,” Director, NIMS, Nagari Beerappa said.
In November 2024, after his Diwali holidays, while traveling from Warangal to Rajasthan, Rahul was pushed from a running train by assailants at around midnight. Another train then ran over his legs. In the horrific accident, Rahul lost both his legs, NIMS doctors added.
