Hyderabad: The city police on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old youth for the brutal murder of a job consultancy owner reported at Engineers Colony in Madhura Nagar.

Police said the suspect P Prabhu Kumar alias Shanu allegedly stabbed J Shashi Kiran Reddy (35), owner of a job consultancy, after visiting the office and demanding a refund over dissatisfaction with a job arranged through the firm on Tuesday afternoon.

He also stabbed HR executive D Akshaya alias Sai Shruthi, when she intervened and tried to stop him from attacking.

Reddy, who suffered 23 stab injuries, was declared dead at a private hospital.

Based on Sai Shruthi’s complaint, the Madhura Nagar police booked a case and nabbed the suspect near Ramoji Film City and seized the knife used in the offence along with several mobile phones.
