Hyderabad: Youth attacks friend with stone after quarrel over biryani in Ramnagar
A petty argument over biryani escalated into a murder attempt in Ramnagar, where a youth allegedly smashed a stone on his sleeping friend’s head. The victim is critical, and police have arrested the accused on charges of attempted murder.
Hyderabad: A petty quarrel between friends over food escalated into a brutal murder attempt in Ramnagar on Tuesday.
Police said a disagreement during a biryani meal the previous evening took a violent turn when one of the youths allegedly attacked his friend while he was asleep.
According to the police, Raju Yadav and his friend Suman were part of a group eating at a mandi outlet in Ramnagar on Monday night. What began as a casual argument reportedly intensified, leaving Raju furious.
Still bearing grudge, Raju allegedly went to Suman’s house in Warasiguda on Tuesday and finding him asleep, he allegedly picked up a large stone and smashed it on Suman’s head.
Family members, who heard the commotion, rushed in to find Suman bleeding profusely. They immediately shifted him to the hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
Following a complaint from the victim’s family, police detained Raju Yadav and registered a case of attempted murder.
Investigators said preliminary interrogation suggests the attack was pre-planned and driven by anger from the previous night’s argument.
