According to the police, recently, Govardhan became angry with Praneeth suspecting that he had spread rumours in the colony of him selling drugs. He waited for an opportunity to eliminate Praneeth.

On April 5, Govardhan along with his other friends took Praneeth out to talk and they assaulted and attacked him. Praneeth, who was grievously injured, was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital.

As his condition worsened, he was taken to the Gandhi Hospital, where he succumbed while receiving treatment there on Tuesday morning.

The Jawaharnagar police are investigating.
