Hyderabad: Youth dies by suicide after family could not buy birthday motorcycle

A 20-year-old man from Mankhal in Pahadishareef died by suicide on Sunday. Police said his family told investigators he had been distressed after they could not immediately buy him a motorcycle as a birthday gift due to financial constraints.

HYDERABAD: A 20-year-old man died by suicide after his parents reportedly could not gift him a motorcycle on his birthday.

According to the police, Baki Akhil alias Patram (20), a resident of Mankhal in Pahadishareef, had asked his parents to buy him a motorcycle as a birthday gift.

However, his parents told him that they would buy the motorcycle a few days later due to their financial constraints.

“After his parents went out to work, Akhil allegedly hanged himself in the house. His parents told us that he might have slipped into depression because they could not gift him a motorcycle on his birthday,” said B Dayakar Reddy, Sub-Inspector of Pahadishareef Police Station. A case has been registered.
