Hyderabad youth gets 25 years for assaulting minor girl
A Hyderabad court sentenced a 19-year-old man, Kamalakar Shiva Kumar, to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2021. The court also awarded Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the victim and imposed a fine
Hyderabad: A city court on Monday sentenced a 19-year-old man to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2021. The accused, Kamalakar Shiva Kumar alias Shiva, a resident of Namalagundu, Secunderabad, was also fined Rs 5,000.
The verdict followed a trial based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents with the Chilkalguda police. Following the complaint, police registered a case, arrested Shiva, and remanded him to custody.
In a separate order, the court also granted a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
