Hyderabad: Youth held for raping and impregnating minor
A 21-year-old man from Jogulamba district was arrested in Hyderabad for raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl he met on Instagram. Her pregnancy was found during a hospital visit, leading police to register a POCSO case and detain him
Hyderabad: The Balanagar police have arrested a youth on charges of raping and impregnating a minor girl, whom he befriended on Instagram.
According to the police, Hari Krishna (21) from Jogulamba district has completed his degree and is unemployed. He met the 16-year-old girl, an intermediate first-year student from Quthbullapur area, on Instagram about six months ago.
In June this year, Hari Krishna had lured the girl and asked her to come to IDPL Township. He then took her to a deserted place and raped her. He further threatened her not to tell anyone. He allegedly sexually violated her many times, resulting in her pregnancy.
When the girl recently fell ill, her parents took her to the hospital, where the doctors tested her and she was found to be pregnant. When the girl was confronted, she told her parents what had happened.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the Balanagar police booked a case and arrested Hari Krishna.
