Hyderabad: The owners of Hyderabad’s very own Karachi Bakery on Friday appealed to Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy and DGP, Dr Jitender for support and guidance to ensure their brand name remains intact and the bakery is not frequently targeted whenever tensions between India and Pakistan escalate.

The owners urged the general public to support them, as they are an authentic Indian brand and not a brand from Pakistan.

Following protests that have erupted in Hyderabad and even in Visakhapatnam over the name of Karachi, Rajesh and Harish Ramnani, owners of the beloved Hyderabad bakery known for its fruit biscuits, emphasized that the bakery has Hyderabad’s identity and uniquely India.

“Our grandfather Khanchand Ramnani established Karachi Bakery in 1953 in Hyderabad. We have been in Hyderabad for 72-years. When our grandfather left Pakistan during partition in 1947, he came to Hyderabad and established this bakery, named it after the city of Karachi. We urge Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and DGP to support and guide us at this time of crisis so that we do not have to change our name,” Rajesh and Harish Ramnani said.

For the past several days, protestors in Hyderabad have also been placing the tricolor on top of all the Karachi bakery outlets. “We are an authentic Indian brand and we request people of Hyderabad and the Country to support us,” they said.
