Hyderabad’s L V Prasad Eye Institute shines globally with 22 scientists on Stanford list
Twenty-two scientists from Hyderabad’s LV Prasad Eye Institute have been ranked in Stanford’s Top 2 per ecnt Scientists List for 2025. Seven made it to the prestigious lifetime list, while 15 were recognised in the annual global rankings for excellence in ophthalmology

Hyderabad: A total of 22 clinical scientists from Hyderabad-based L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) have made it to the lifetime and annual rankings of the prestigious 2025 Stanford/Elsevier Top 2 per cent Scientists List, released recently. Of the 22, a total of seven top-performing eye researchers have made it to the lifetime rankings, while the remaining 15 made it to the annual rankings 2025.
The seven LVPEI researchers who earned a place in the lifetime ranking for ophthalmology from India are Gullapalli N Rao, Dr Savitri Sharma, Prof Balasubramanian D, Dr Mohd Javid Ali, Dr Prashant Garg, Dr Taraprasad Das and Dr Swathi Kaliki.
The 17 LVPEI researchers who made it to annual rankings are Dr Mohd Javid Ali, Dr Swathi Kaliki, Dr Savitri Sharma, Dr Prashant Garg, Dr Sayan Basu, Dr Rohit Khanna, Dr Gullapalli N Rao, Dr Swathi Singh, Dr Tarapras, Dr Jill Elizabeth Keeffe, Dr Vivek Singh, Dr Pavab Kumar Verkicharla, Dr D Balasubramanian, Dr Milinda Neilkant Naik, and Dr Subhadra Jalali.
