Hyderabad’s Padiga Tejesh shines with silver at National Ice Skating Championship
Hyderabad's artistic ice skater Padiga Tejesh won silver at the 21st National Ice Skating Championship in Dehradun and qualified for the Asian Ice Skating Championship in Indonesia. The Telangana skater was felicitated for his consistent national and international achievements
Hyderabad: Padiga Tejesh, an artistic ice skater from Hyderabad, who has won a Silver medal in the individal Figure skating category at the 21st National Ice Skating Championship in Dehradun recently.
Padiga Tejesh, is the only skater from Telangana in figure skating category to be selected to participate in the Asian Ice Skating Chhampionship to be held in Indonesia later this year. Padiga Tejesh is trained by the renowned skating coach Anup Kumar Yama, an Arjun Award winner from Hyderabad.
Tejesh has bagged several national and international medals at a very young age. He had won one gold medal and two silver medal at the Asian Championship held in South Korea in 2025 and bagged one gold medal, one silver and one bronze medal at the Oceania Championship held in New Zealand in 2024.
He had also picked up silver medal at the 19th Asian Champioship held in China in 2023. In recognition of his remarkable achivements, the Nehrunagar Park Development Committe felicitated Padiga Tejesh on Monday at Nehrunagar park, West Marredpalli in Secunderabad.
Hanumantha Rao, president, Nehrunagar Park Development Commmittee, KSP Reddy, Krishna Mohan Rao, Pramoda Rao, Anup Kumar Yama, coach and several other senior citizens attended the programme.
