Hyderabad: Hyderabad opener Gongadi Trisha hit a 158-ball 112 to star in India B’s 92-run win over India A in the women’s under-19 one-day Challenger Series in Jaipur on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old, who started representing Hyderabad at an early age of eight years, struck as many as 17 fours. The free-stroking Trisha and Anushka Sharma put on 188 for the opening wicket in India B score of 221/4 in 50 overs.


India A, in reply, were bundled out for 129 in 41.3 overs. Trisha, who opened the bowling with Jintimani Kalita, returned with figures of 5-0-18-0. However, it was Anushka Sharma who took the bowling honours as she returned with figures of 10-2-18-5.

Based on their good performances in the under-19 inter-state championship, Trisha and wicketkeeper battter Mamata are the two Hyderabad players who have been selected to play in this Challenger Series tournament.

Brief scores: India B 221/4 in 50 overs (G Trisha 112, Anushka Sharma 72) bt India A 129 in 41.3 overs (Roshni Kiran 51, IM Savkar 32; Anushka Shara 5/18).
