Hyderabad’s Vishwanath for World Sailing championship
Vishwanath, whose parents are daily wage labourers, has been selected by the Navy and Boys Sports Company at the age of 12. He dreams of winning medals for the country in the Asian Championship and Olympics.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s youngster Padidala Vishwanath has been selected for the upcoming Optimist World Sailing Championship, being held in Italy.
The 15-year-old sailor, who hails from a humble background, has been training at the Navy Boys Spots Company, INS Mandovi in Goa. He has been selected in the junior boys yachting team that will represent India in the prestigious event at the Riva Del Garda in Italy.
Vishwanath, whose parents are daily wage labourers, has been selected by the Navy and Boys Sports Company at the age of 12. He dreams of winning medals for the country in the Asian Championship and Olympics. He won a silver medal at the sub-junior international Regatta in 2017 and has been part of the national side in Optimist class since then.
