HYDRAA clears encroachments, fences Mellacheruvu lake

HYDRAA officials in Sangareddy have removed encroachments on Mellacheruvu lake in Tellapur municipality and erected fencing to prevent future violations. The action followed citizen complaints and a visit by Commissioner AV Ranganath.

Sangareddy: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) officials removed encroachments on Mellacheruvu located in Tellapur municipality and erected fencing to protect the lake from future encroachments.

Following complaints from citizens, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath visited the water body recently and directed Raju Yadav, who had lands close to the lake, to vacate the land.

However, he did not obey the orders, prompting officials to act. The HYDRAA officials, under full police security, demarcated the boundaries of the lake and erected the fencing on Friday.
