Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa) Commissioner AV Ranganath conducted an extensive inspection across multiple areas on Friday, reviewing nala diversion works, lake development proposals, and flood mitigation infrastructure.
During his visit to Borabanda and Sunnam Cheruvu, he assessed ongoing nala diversion works and recommended widening of drains connecting Allapur and Borabanda divisions. Local residents raised concerns about encroachments near Padmavathi Nagar, including recently built sheds and structures along the high-tension power line road in Borabanda. They also urged the Commissioner to consider building a connecting road from Sunnam Cheruvu to the 100-ft road in Ayyappa Society — a proposal Ranganath said would be evaluated.
The Hydraa chief also visited Musayi Kunta and Gosayikunta lakes in the NGO Colony of Gachibowli, suggesting their full development after reviewing land records. In Vanasthalipuram, he inspected underground drainage works under the national highway, aimed at preventing chronic flooding in the area.
Later, he reviewed nala widening efforts near Meerpet, particularly the nala that feeds into the large lake crossing Badangpet main road.
