Hyderabad: A 49-year-old woman who accidentally fell into the Musi on Friday and spent the night vainly crying for help was finally rescued on Saturday morning.

Indira, a resident of Golnaka near Amberpet, slipped accidentally into the Musi. She fell into a part of the river that was obstructed by trees and desperately struggled to reach the shore. After several efforts went in vain, she spent the night in the river, and her cries for help went unheard.

The locals who noticed her on Saturday morning tried to help but couldn’t reach and pull her out. Later, they called in the authorities for help.

According to a press release, the Hydraa control room received a call from locals at 10.51 am today and DRF teams reached the spot by 11.07 am. As Hydraa rescue operations were underway, the Fire Department personnel also arrived on the scene. Using a large ladder, the DRF teams then went down and rescued the woman from Musi.
