Hyderabad: Fire safety inspections by Hydraa officials continued for the second day on Friday, with GHMC, Fire and TGSPDCL officials joining the drive and taking action against six furniture shops for not adhering to fire regulations.
According to a press release, these places had storage of chemical and paint cans, with the surroundings filled with furniture manufacturing materials. Some buildings lacked permits and fire certification documents. Due to the absence of automatic water sprinklers, smoke detectors and visible fire extinguishers, authorities seized six shops in various city areas.
The inspections covered Looking Good Furniture in Gachibowli, Anu Furniture Showroom at Kompally Cross Roads, Royal Oak Furniture in Kukatpally and Attapur, Bantia Furniture Showroom in Uppal and Anu Furniture Showroom in Nacharam. Boards were placed declaring these shops as fire safety deficient areas, the press release said.
