Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency teams on Monday inspected encroachments in Indira Park and Lower Tank Bund, after complaints from walkers about unauthorised activity at the old skating rink area during Prajavani.
Hydraa Commissioner A V Ranganath, in a press release, said that he inspected the site on Monday and ordered an immediate halt to construction and restoration of the boundary wall. Since a new skating rink is now available, he suggested integrating the old one into Indira Park.
According to the complaint received in Prajavani, an individual, who earlier had conducted a summer camp to teach karate to children at Indira Park, continued to operate the karate training centre even after the camp was over. The complaint alleged that this individual also collected fees from children and attempted to expand the karate centre. The complaint alleged that the individual dumped steel rods and construction materials to undertake illegal constructions.
A case has also been filed against one Ravinder Reddy at the Domalguda police station for demolishing the boundary wall to access the skating rink from inside Indira Park.
