Hyderabad: Hydraa is supervising the broader ‘CURE’ (Core Urban Region Economy comprising the GHMC, CMC, and MMC) region and is dealing with monsoon concerns such as uprooted trees, waterlogging, and traffic clearance through DRF (Disaster Response Force) teams and Monsoon Emergency Teams (MET).

Just a week before the monsoon, Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath held meetings with two civic bodies – CMC and MMC – and discussed whether arrangements to tackle monsoon-related issues were in place.

Earlier, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) used to be actively involved in pre-monsoon preparedness, maintenance of roads and taking up relief works when required during the rainy season. Now, with one more agency in the form of Hydraa taking over the DRF activities, the activities during the season seem to have been entangled in confusion.
