Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Attapur on Sunday when HYDRAA teams, along with the local police, removed tin sheets put up around 6,000 square yards of land claimed to be owned by a particular community.

Tension has been brewing for last few days in Attapur, following objections to the alleged encroachment by a group of people belonging to a particular community near the Swayambhu Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Attapur. The temple committee had claimed that around 6,000 square yards of land had been encroached upon for construction of a religious place by members of a particular community.

After complains the HYDRAA officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection two days ago. On Sunday, the HYDRAA teams, with the help of local police demolished the temporary tin-sheet boundary. The people had raised objections to demolition by the HYDRAA. They were not acting in a professional manner.

However, the HYDRAA officials maintained that the land parcel is government land and they have verified the records with the government records.
