Dubai: The buzz was on since afternoon when India was engaged in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand here on Sunday.

Will Rohit Sharma announce his retirement from the ODI format (he had already quit the T-20 format after leading to victory in the T-20 World Cup in West Indies last year)?

And the Indian captain, who led from the front with a typically robust 76 in the final, said “Koi future plan hai nahi, jo chal raha hai chalega (no future plan, whatever is happening will continue),’’ Rohit, who was named ‘player of the final’ said in the post-match press conference.

“I am not going to retire from this format,” he said, effectively putting to rest any speculation of Rohit quitting the ODI format.

“I scored heavily in the 2019 World Cup but maza nahi aaya… team didn’t win. When the team wins, and you make a contribution, it gives satisfaction. I am clear in my mind how I want to bat, and that is what I am trying to do,” Rohit said after India won the trophy for a record the third time.
