Newly married Kajal Aggarwal who made a splash across social media with her wedding pictures is steadily taking on projects that test her business acumen. From investing in gaming industry to brand endorsements, the lovely lady who was last seen in Ranarangam gets talking with Hyderabad Today in an exclusive chat.

Firstly, give us some details from that gorgeous wedding you had…

It’s something which is for a lifetime, we had great fun together, but missed a few people at the wedding. It was just limited people as it was a bit difficult for us to call everybody. But I made sure I sent some hampers to loved ones who were not able to attend the ceremony.

Was shopping for the wedding difficult?

Of course, it was very different given the current situation we are in. We had to be mindful of all the safety protocols and measures. But I am fortunate to be surrounded by so many loving people who made my life simple and made my special day even more special. I resorted to virtual appointments throughout my bridal shopping sprees. The designers – Anita Dongre, Anamika Khanna, Varun Bahl and Falguni Shane Peacock were very supportive in making this process easy for me.

You opted to include the ritual jeelakarra bellam in your wedding, why is that?

I feel I have spent so much time in South India for work that it almost feels like I belong here. And not just me, but Gautam also has a strong relationship with South India. So, we wanted to pay tribute to that.

Does your husband have a favourite among the films you have worked in?

I don’t think he has favourite. But, I’m also curious to know now.

Can you tell us a little bit about how you met?

We met eight years ago at a friend’s wedding, but nothing happened then. We stayed friends and were constant in our lives. It was only recently we decided to give love a chance, after which our families met.

Is there a place you want to travel to only with your husband?

I just can’t name one place because I want to travel everywhere with Gautam.

What projects are you going to be busy with?

I go back to shooting post-Diwali. I will be starting with the Tamil film Hey Sinamika opposite Dulquer. There is also Indian 2 that was unfortunately stalled this year. I’m working in Acharya with Chiranjeevi in Telugu. There is some patchwork left on Mosagallu apart from another release coming out on an OTT platform.
