HYDERABAD: Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Avesh Khan, who bowled a terrific match-winning spell of 4-0-37-3 against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL game at Jaipur on Saturday, said he would only focus on the execution at the given time.

In the post-match briefing, Avesh said when he would be playing he would never feel the tension that he would go for a six or a four.

“I just focus on the execution – just back 100% whatever ball I have decided to bowl. Mostly it is the yorker, even if it is 15 required or 20 required. I back myself on the yorker, and that is very important in the IPL,” Avesh said.

“When you focus completely on the match, you focus only where you want to bowl. Not that you want to get the wicket of this ball or you want to make the batter defend or you want to bowl a dot ball,” he said.

“The moment I saw him shuffle to off, I bowled the stump line, and luckily it went to hand because he was the only fielder there,” he said.

Avesh also said that he doesn’t want to become Mitchell Starc (of Delhi Capitals).

“I just want to become a good Avesh Khan. Yorker is my strength and I try to execute it. If I bowl with clarity, I execute it well. I don’t bowl looking at the scorecard. I didn’t want to concede a boundary in the first three balls. And the batters would be under pressure,” he explained.

“I think about the team, I just wanted to win the match. This is a big tournament, I will try to bowl the same way in the remaining matches,” Avesh said.
