Mahabubnagar: Admitting that roads and other development works had stalled due to delays in clearing bills, Congress Jadcherla MLA J Anirudh Reddy said he would fight with the State government to secure the required funds for his constituency.
“There is nothing wrong in fighting for the people’s interests. If the people of Jadcherla are facing inconvenience, I am prepared to fight against anyone,” he said.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Anirudh Reddy said people had elected him by casting their votes in his favour and it was his responsibility to fight for their interests. “If required, I will fight with Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. What’s wrong in it? Don’t I fight with my father?” he argued in a video circulating on social media.
The Congress MLA said he was also prepared to stage a protest if the funds were not released. “This is a democracy. We have to keep questioning till our work is done. I will keep questioning and fighting for the people of Jadcherla,” he said.
A few Congress MLAs have been admitting that they were facing challenges in their constituencies due to delays in clearing bills. Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy had met Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka in Hyderabad on Wednesday and sought funds for his constituency. “I came here to get funds released for my constituency. Many works have been stalled due to delay in clearing bills,” he had said.
