IAF organises a cycle expedition in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, commemorating 75 years of Indian independence, a cycling expedition was organised by the Indian Air Force at the Air Force Station Begumpet here on Friday. The expedition was undertaken by 75 Air Warriors from Air Force Academy (AFA) Hyderabad, and the Air Force Stations at Begumpet and Hakimpet covering a distance of 75 km.
The cycling expedition was flagged off in the wee hours from Air Force Station Begumpet by Group Captain Sunil Tomar, Station Commander, and later flagged in at Air force Academy (AFA) by Air Marshal IP Vipin, Commandant, AFA Dundigal.
The expedition showcased a spirit of adventure and laid emphasis on physical fitness of Air Warriors and aimed to promote the ‘Go Green’ idea of the Indian Air Force. This expedition was a befitting tribute to the ultimate sacrifice made by the freedom fighters, a press release said.
