IAS transfers in Telangana; NVS Reddy appointed as Advisor
In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad has been given Full Additional Charge as Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, following NVS Reddy’s appointment as Advisor (Urban Transport) to the Telangana Government. The Congress Government’s decision to extend Reddy’s tenure post-retirement has drawn attention.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad has been given Full Additional Charge (FAC) as Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Managing Director after NVS Reddy was appointed as Advisor to Telangana Government (Urban Transport) for a period of two years.
In contrast to its policies, the Congress Government extended the services of Reddy, who retired from service on June 30, 2016 and was given extensions till June 30 this year. The two postings were part of orders issued on Tuesday transferring a few IAS officers.
Shruti Ojha, who returned from study leave, was posted as Director, WCD&SC, duly relieving Srijana G from FAC of the said post. Krishna Aditya S, Director, Intermediate Education was placed in FAC of the post of Secretary, TGSWREIS, duly relieving K Seetha Lakshmi from FAC of the said post.
Kota Sreevatsa, Joint Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA was posted as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA (General) and also placed in FAC of the post of Secretary, HMDA as R Upender Reddy was transferred.
M Raji Reddy, Joint Registrar, Cooperative Department, who was working as General Manager in Civil Supplies Corporation was transferred and posted as Chief Rationing Officer, Hyderabad. He relieves Zendage Hanumant Kondiba from FAC of the post.
G Jitender Reddy, CEO, ZP Adilabad was transferred and posted as Managing Director, TG OILFED as J Shankaraiah was transferred. Rajeshwar, SGDC, PD, Housing, Karimnagar was transferred and posted as Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Adilabad.
R Upender Reddy, SGMC was transferred and posted as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner (Sub-Urban region), HMDA.
T Venkanna, SGMC, who was awaiting posting, was appointed as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner (Core Urban Region and Metro Rail).
