Hyderabad: The Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) and its constituent colleges have been approved and accredited by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with ‘A’ grade during December 2021.
These colleges offer four undergraduate, 18 postgraduate and 13 doctoral programmes and they are being offered under three faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, and Community Science.
After the formation of Telangana in 2014, the University started three new agricultural colleges in Warangal, Palemand Sircilla and the College of Food Science & Technology, Rudrur, the PJTSAU said on Thursday.
Some of the state-of-the-art facilities at the University are Central Instrumentation Cell, Aghub- Incubation Centre, NABL accredited Quality Control Lab, Pesticide Residual Lab etc., it said.
The facility and ecosystem at Aghub have attracted many agri-startups who have graduated to the next level. Some of the startups such as Krishi Tantra have trained and recruited the University students to work with them, it said.
The University has enhanced the number of seats from 564 in 2015-16 to 988 in 2021-22 for all the undergraduate courses to meet the increasing demand, it added.
