Hyderabad: The city-based Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) in collaboration with Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and UNICEF India, is organising a webinar on ‘Strengthening maternal nutrition assessment and services in antenatal care in India’ between 5 pm to 7 pm on January 29.
The webinar will specifically focus on ‘Maternal Thinness’, as large proportion of Indian women suffer from anaemia and too thin with Body Mass Index of less than 16.
Director of ICMR-NIN Dr R Hemalatha will be the chairperson while the president of FOGSI, Dr Alpesh Gandhi will be the co-chair. Senior officials from FOGSI, MOHFW, New Delhi, NIN and UNICEF, India will take part in the webinar.
The webinar will focus on improving the levels of interventions, strategies and innovations among professional nutritionists and gynaecologists on strengthening maternal nutrition, minimum universal nutrition services package in antenatal care etc.
The webinar is being hosted by ICMR-NIN and FOGSI to ensure doctors and nutritionists are updated with latest knowledge and innovations in the field of maternal nutrition.
