Hyderabad: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) decided to defer the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) examinations, keeping in view the recent surge in Covid-19 cases across the country. The exams were originally scheduled to be held from May 4.
According to the council, the decision regarding the conduct of the examinations will be taken based on the Covid-19 situation, in the first week of June. While the ISC examinations will be conducted at a later date, the ICSE candidates will have the option of either writing the exam along with ISC candidates or choosing to not write the exam. In case of the ICSE candidates choosing to not write the exam, CISCE will develop a fair and unbiased criterion while preparing the results of those candidates.
Earlier this week, the Central Board of Secondary Education had cancelled its Class 10 board exams and deferred the Class 12 board exams. Several State boards have postponed or cancelled their exams too.
