Warangal: Devotees participated in large numbers in the ritual of installation and consecration of idol of Shiva Lingam at the Sri Rama Lingeshwara Swamy temple located on the bund of Madhannapet tank near Narsampet here on Sunday.
Noted industrialist and philanthropist Dodda Mohan Rao of Lingagiri village of Chennaraopet mandal in Narsampet Assembly constituency has constructed the temple with his own funds.
The rituals of installation of the idols of various deities would be held till 20 of this month. “For four days in a row, special rituals are performed by Vedic scholars. On Sunday, ‘Ganapati Puja’, ‘Raksha Bandhanam’, ‘Ankurarpana’ and ‘Yagashala Pravesham’ were held in the presence of Mohan Rao.
Narsampet Municipal Chairperson Gunti Rajani, Zilla Parishad floor leader Peddi Swapna and family members of Dodda Mohan Rao attended the ceremony.
