Vikarabad: Inspector General Satyanarayana raised objection over former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy holding a press meet and making remarks that could influence the investigation. He also warned that an appeal would be made to cancel the former MLA’s bail.
Patnam Narender Reddy held press meet at Kodangal on Wednesday. While addressing media persons, he said police intelligence had failed in the controversy over land acquisition for pharma village. Patnam Narender Reddy was not arrested in connection with the land acquisition and it was not wise on his part to make such comments, the Inspector General said.
Over 230 police personnel were deployed at Lagacherla for bandobust. As per a plan, Suresh had deliberately taken District Collector Prateek Jain to the village. He was arrested for attacking the Collector, Satyanarayana said.
A few persons were taken into custody in connection with the incident in two to three phases. The police had not assaulted any person, he maintained, adding that those, who were not involved with the incident were released immediately.
“Patnam Narender Reddy should stop making false allegations. No government will order police to arrest farmers in handcuffs. Suresh voice recordings are available with us and he planned everything,” Satyanarayana said, adding that all the details would be exposed at an appropriate time.
The Inspector General also charged that Patnam Narender Reddy was not cooperating with the police in investigation and was not sharing his phone’s password.
