IGNOU Hyderabad Regional Centre awards 2,815 degrees at 39th convocation
The 39th IGNOU convocation at Hyderabad Regional Centre awarded 2,815 degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The Centre serves all 33 Telangana districts, plans a new AIIMS Bibinagar centre, and contributes to 2,99,092 awards nationwide under innovative educational programs.

Hyderabad: A total of 2,815 degrees, diplomas, and certificates were awarded during the 39th convocation ceremony of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Hyderabad Regional Centre, organised here on Tuesday.
IGNOU Hyderabad Regional Director Dr Raju Bolla, who presented an annual report highlighting that the Centre has been instrumental in making a wide range of innovative programmes available to students in the Telangana region.
At present, the Centre is serving all 33 districts of Telangana through 20 active learner support centres. Efforts are underway to establish another learner support centre at AIIMS Bibinagar for health science courses in the upcoming academic year, he said.
Out of the 333 programmes offered by IGNOU, nearly 200 are available through the Hyderabad Regional Centre, including certificates, postgraduate certificates, diplomas, postgraduate diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees, he said.
In his address, Dr BR Ambedkar Open University Vice Chancellor, Prof Ghanta Chakrapani, said that IGNOU’s diverse programmes under the new education policy are not only shaping students into responsible citizens but also creating employment opportunities across various sectors.
Overall, 2,99,092 degrees, diplomas, and certificates were awarded to students across the country.
