IIIT Hyderabad honours top graduates at 25th convocation ceremony

A total of 526 students graduated during IIIT Hyderabad's 25th convocation. Top performers received prestigious awards, while Principal Scientific Adviser Prof Ajay Kumar Sood encouraged graduates to pursue responsible innovation that benefits society and makes technology accessible to all.

Hyderabad: As many as 526 students graduated during the 25th convocation of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad on Saturday. Maddireddy Kritin of BTech CSE received a gold medal for outstanding academic performance, while Abhinav Digambar Raundhal of BTech CSE was awarded the best all-rounder award in recognition of his achievements in academics, extracurricular activities and service to the institute.

Delivering an address virtually, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof Ajay Kumar Sood, said the real challenge before the next generation is not merely to innovate, but to democratise innovation so that its benefits reach every section of society.


Urging the graduating students to become custodians of responsible innovation, he said that the knowledge and skills they acquired at IIIT Hyderabad must be harnessed to develop solutions that transform lives and create a positive impact on society.

IIIT-Hyderabad governing council chairman Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwala described the Institute as a unique institution and said it has distinguished itself through its strong research foundation, academic excellence, and commitment to creating technologies that address real-world challenges.

Congratulating the graduating students, IIIT Hyderabad director Prof Sandeep Shukla said more than 31 per cent of this year’s graduates earned degrees based on high-quality thesis work.
