IIIT-Hyderabad to go online for MSIT programme

Hyderabad: The MSIT programme at IIIT Hyderabad, with 100 per cent placement over the last 10 years, has been restructured as a partly-on-campus online programme with three semesters of course work followed by one semester of internship/practicum.

As per the changes, there will be staggered rolling admission to the programme. Given the uncertainties of exam schedules and graduation dates caused due to the pandemic, prospective students can start the programme every quarter, the IIIT Hyderabad said on Thursday.

Students joining the programme will learn the course by online learning by doing. They also will get one-on-one personalized mentoring which will enable students to proceed at their own speed until they demonstrate mastery by getting 90 per cent or more in each subject. Every student can request a personalized exam when they feel ready, it said.
Students can complete the coursework in one calendar year, with reduced tuition, followed by a semester-length practicum. Students will also be able to choose a specialization across Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, App Development (Full-stack), Blockchain Technologies, and Information Security, it said.

According to the Institute, the MSIT online programme remains a full-fledged master’s programme with campus placement opportunities and industry partnerships, helping students learn concepts by applying them in real-world scenarios.
