Visakhapatnam: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) here on Monday to strengthen the academia-industry interface and relationship between both the organisations by conducting various programs for the students in IIMV and for the officers of HPCL.
IIMV Director Prof. M. Chandrasekhar explained how the MoU would establish the strong relationship between HPCL and IIMV as well as help students to get an insight into the PSU work culture. He also spoke about the various degree programs being offered by IIM V (PGP-DGM, PGP-Ex, PGP, PhD) and gave an insight into the much-awaited upcoming permanent campus which is 20 km away from the transit campus and also is energy neutral, carbon neutral, water neutral.
Director (HR) HPCL Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi said that as part of the collaborative venture the senior executives of HPCL and faculty in IIMV would work together to strengthen the multi-faceted academia-industry relationship and contribute in the field of research. The senior executives of HPCL would interact with the students, giving them an insight into the industrial world. On the other hand, IIMV faculty would conduct digital training programs, workshops for the senior officers of HPCL.
He also revealed that a 45 HPCL member team was working on a case study pertaining to what HR would be in the coming years and how the study of psychology, sociology could be used in HR. HPCL and IIMV will join hands for producing such case studies.
