IIT-Hyderabad, Central Sanskrit University sign MoU to promote Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems
To collaborate on Sanskrit, Indian Knowledge Systems, technology-enabled research; partnership includes joint academic events, exchange programmes, shared access to scholarly resources, bridging traditional knowledge with modern science
Sangareddy: The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) and the Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote mutual cooperation in the areas of Sanskrit, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and technology-enabled research.
The two institutes will collaborate in academic initiatives related to Sanskrit, IKS, linguistics, computational Sanskrit, Vedic sciences, philosophy, and allied disciplines.
There will be exchange programmes for faculty, researchers, and students to facilitate shared learning and joint research initiatives.
The two premier institutes will organise joint academic events, including workshops, conferences, lecture series, and summer schools. They will also provide mutual access to academic and library resources, manuscript repositories, and archival collections.
Highlighting the potential of the MoU, Director of IIT-H, Prof BS Murty, said the Department of Heritage Science and Technology at IIT-H, together with CSU, would aim to unlock new dimensions in research and education by bringing traditional ancient wisdom into dialogue with modern science and technology.
Vice Chancellor of CSU, Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi, termed the MoU a historic step in reviving India’s knowledge tradition.
