IIT Hyderabad Director Prof BS Murty appointed as Indian Institute of Metals president
IIT Hyderabad Director Prof B S Murty has been appointed president of the Indian Institute of Metals, succeeding JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal. The appointment was announced at the 79th AGM held in Kolkata. Prof Murty continues as IIT-H Director till 2030
Sangareddy: Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H), Prof BS Murty, a well-known metallurgist, has been appointed president of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) following the conclusion of its 79th annual general meeting (AGM) held in Kolkata on July 26.
Prof Murty will take over from Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSW Group, on August 1. He will continue to serve as IIT-H Director until 2030.
The Indian Institute of Metals is a premier professional body representing metallurgical and materials engineering professionals across academia, industry, and research.
