IIT Hyderabad launches Applied AI certification programme for professionals

IIT Hyderabad has launched a four-week Applied AI Professional Certification Programme for working professionals. The September 2026 cohort will combine faculty-led sessions, online learning, hands-on assignments and project development to train participants in building and deploying AI applications

Sangareddy: As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes an increasingly important part of the modern workplace, professionals are looking for opportunities to move beyond simply using AI tools and develop the skills required to build and deploy AI applications.

Addressing this growing need, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has launched the Applied AI Professional Certification Program – September Cohort 2026, offering working professionals an opportunity to learn applied AI from IITH faculty and industry experts.

The four-week professional certification programme, beginning on September 19, 2026, is designed for professionals seeking to understand how AI applications are engineered for real-world deployment. Participants will learn to design, build, evaluate and operate AI agent systems through a combination of instructor-led sessions and continuous hands-on development.

The programme will be conducted in a hybrid format. Instructor-led sessions will be held on Saturdays, with participants able to attend on campus at IITH or online. The intervening weeks will include guided online learning, hands-on assignments, project development and mentor support, enabling participants to apply each week’s concepts to an evolving project before progressing to the next stage.

The lectures will be delivered by Dr Praveen Tammana, Dr Ashish Mishra and Dr Anupam Sanghi, faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IITH, along with NVSS Koundinya, AI Solution Architect.

The programme will provide professionals with an opportunity to engage directly with IITH faculty-led learning while applying the concepts through continuous project development. Participants who successfully complete the prescribed assignments, assessments and programme requirements will receive an IITH professional certificate.
