IIT Madras launches new UG, PG, online and web-enabled programmes
IIT Madras has announced a series of new undergraduate, postgraduate, online and web-enabled programmes for the 2026-27 academic year, covering emerging fields such as AI, Robotics, Semiconductor Technology, Sustainable Engineering and Public Policy with strong industry-focused applications.

Hyderabad: The IIT Madras announced the launch of a wide range of new undergraduate, postgraduate, online and web-enabled academic programmes for the academic year 2026-27.
The new programmes span diverse fields ranging from Mathematics, Robotics, Semiconductor Materials Technology, Public Policy, Sustainable Engineering, Offshore and Maritime Engineering, Sports Analytics and AI, among others.
Several of these programmes are designed to integrate strong theoretical foundations with industry-relevant applications in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantitative finance, manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, policy design, computational engineering and analytics.
Dean Academic Courses Prof Prathap Haridoss said the new programmes launched by IIT Madras reflect the evolving needs of industry, research and society. “These are designed to equip students with strong foundational knowledge along with interdisciplinary and industry-relevant skills,” he added.
