Peddapalli: Private doctors staged protest demonstration in Peddapalli town on Friday following a call by the IMA in protest against an attack on a hospital by the family members and relatives of a patient.
They demanded action against the people involved in the attack. It may be recalled here that family members and relatives of a seven-months-old baby girl, who died due to alleged overdose of medicine, on Thursday attacked Sri Siddartha hospital and damaged furniture.
In protest against the attack, private doctors took out a rally from IMA office to government hospital wherein doctors from different parts of the state took part by wearing black badges.
Participating in the protest, IMA state president Padala Kaliprasada Rao condemned the attack and said that it was uncivilized to chase the doctor by holding a knife.
It was not proper to try to kill a doctor, who protects the lives of the people, he opined. Demanding serious action against the accused, he wanted the state government to take steps to put an end to such incidents in the future.
