IMA Nizamabad organises Doctors’ Cricket League to promote drug-free life
The IMA Nizamabad and Dr. A. Vishal’s Alcohol and Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre jointly launched the Doctors’ Cricket League in Keshapur. The event promoted sports, healthy living and awareness about addiction and available de-addiction and rehabilitation services.

Hyderabad: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Nizamabad and Dr. A. Vishal’s Alcohol and Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre jointly inaugurated the Doctors’ Cricket League at Rockets Cricket Ground, Keshapur, with the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life and Sports.”
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest P. Sai Chaitanya, Commissioner of Police, Nizamabad, urged young people to stay away from addictive substances and embrace sports, exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Vishal Akula, president of IMA Nizamabad, emphasised that addiction is a treatable health condition. He stated that medicines, counselling, psychological interventions, de-addiction treatment and rehabilitation services are available and encouraged affected individuals and their families to seek professional help without hesitation.
The league matches will be held from September 1 to 8, and Dr. P. Kishan, president of IMA Telangana State Branch, will present prizes to the winners on September 8, 2026.
Senior doctors and office bearers of IMA, Nizamabad, along with doctors and medical, dental, physiotherapy and nursing students, participated in the programme.
