IMD forecasts more cloudy skies, light showers for Hyderabad
Hyderabad witnessed mostly cloudy weather with only scattered showers on Wednesday, while temperatures dropped across the city. The IMD has forecast similar conditions over the next 48 hours, with light to moderate rain likely and temperatures expected to fall further across Telangana.
Hyderabad: But for a few scattered spells of showers, the weather conditions in Hyderabad and suburbs on Wednesday largely remained cloudy.
After widespread rains on Monday night, the city’s wait for rains continued with Tuesday and Wednesday not experiencing any good rainfall. A pleasant cloudy weather prevailed in the early hours today and continued through the day with an occasional shower in different parts of the city and suburbs.
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 3 mm was recorded at Dundigal-Gandimaisamma of Medchal-Malkajgiri, while the average rainfall was recorded as around 0.1 mm.
The IMD-Hyderabad forecast for the next 48 hours looks at similar weather conditions for the city with skies remaining cloudy and light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurring towards evening and night.
However, there has been a respite from the extended summer conditions as the mercury on Wednesday dropped with most places in the city recording a maximum of around 35 degree Celsius. The highest recorded day temperature today was at Musheerabad with 36.5 degree Celsius, while the lowest of 34.8 degree Celsius was at Serilingampalli and Falaknuma, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society data.
Across the State, in its bulletin on Wednesday, the IMD-Hyderabad said heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Kumaram Bheem and Peddapalli districts. The forecast also looked at the possibility of light to moderate rain or thunder showers very likely occurring at many places over Telangana. It also mentioned a gradual fall in maximum temperature by 2 degree Celsius to 5 degree Celsius C during next three days.
