IMD forecasts thunderstorms in Hyderabad over next three days

Hyderabad: The city witnessed a cloudy day, even as several other parts of Telangana witnessed light to moderate rainfall on Monday. The average minimum temperature was 19.6 degree Celsius while the lowest minimum temperature of 17.9 degree Celsius was recorded at Hayathnagar.
According to the India Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H), the city was likely to receive thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and hailstorm on Wednesday and Thursday. The minimum temperature was expected to be around 18 degree Celsius, whereas the maximum temperature would be around 30 degree Celsius. IMD officials have issued a yellow alert for the city and neighbouring districts for these two days.
The Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) of the Telangana State Development Planning Society too have predicted that most parts of the city would receive up to 2.5 mm rainfall over the next three to four days.
Meanwhile, several districts have been receiving moderate to heavy rainfall since Sunday evening. Siddipet received heavy downpours on Monday afternoon, whereas many other districts including Adilabad, Jagtial, Nirmal and Medak received up to 14.8 mm rainfall. Forecasting heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday, IMD-H has issued yellow alert for Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal (Rural),Warangal (Urban) and Yadadri Bhongir.
