IMD Hyderabad issues orange alert for heavy rainfall in Telangana
The IMD-Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several Telangana districts till Friday morning, even as independent forecasters claim the low-pressure area has shifted to Marathwada. Hyderabad and surrounding districts are also on alert.

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Thursday evening indicated that several districts in Telangana are likely to face heavy to very heavy rainfall until the early hours of Friday due to a low-pressure area (LPA).
While independent weather forecasters and trackers indicated that the influence of the LPA over Telangana has ended and moved towards Marathwada, the IMD-Hyderabad in its forecast said there could be severe downpours in parts of Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal and Kamareddy until Friday morning.
The IMD-Hyderabad also issued a heavy rainfall warning for Hyderabad and neighbouring districts including Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy, in addition to Yadadri Bhongir, Mahabubnagar and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
A heavy to very heavy rainfall orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Rajanna Siricilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayshankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Hanamakonda, Warangal, Jangaon, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy and Medak districts.
The IMD also issued a light to moderate rain and thundershowers warning for all parts of Telangana till early Friday.
