IMD issues weather alert: Heatwave to ease with thunderstorms in Telangana
Telangana will continue to face a severe heatwave until April 20, with temperatures reaching 44°C. The IMD Hyderabad predicts relief afterward, with thunderstorms, rain, and gusty winds expected across several districts between April 20 and 21.

Hyderabad: Telangana will have to endure the ongoing spell of heatwave until April 20, after which a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, suggests a much-needed respite from the severe dry heat.
In its weather bulletin issued on Thursday, the IMD-Hyderabad indicated extensive thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, likely across multiple districts of Telangana between April 20 and 21.
Till Monday, however, almost all the districts of Telangana will experience dry weather with maximum temperatures ranging from 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius.
The forecast for April 20 says, “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. Warning: Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places”.
The specific districts for which the thunderstorm warning has been issued include Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Khammam, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.
