IMD warns of thunderstorms, gusty winds across Telangana

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several Telangana districts until April 2. Temperatures are expected to range between 36°C and 41°C, with hailstorms and heavy thundershowers likely in some areas.

Hyderabad: The ongoing weather conditions featuring rising mercury levels during daytime and thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms, gusty winds and lightning are expected to continue till next April 2.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, in its forecast on Sunday, has issued a yellow warning of intense thundershowers, lightning, and gusty winds, till next Thursday, in multiple districts. At the same time, the temperatures across the districts of Telangana are expected to range between 36 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius.


The maximum temperatures at three districts of Telangana, including Adilabad, Komrambheem Asifabad and Mancherial, are expected to touch 41 degree celsius, while maximum temperatures in the remaining districts will range between 36 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the IMD, Hyderabad has issued a warning for intense spells of thundershowers, including gusty winds ranging from 30 to 50 kmph, lightning and thundershowers, for Mahabubnagar, NagarKurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, JogulambaGadwal, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and SangaReddy districts.

For April 4 and 5, the IMD Hyderabad has issued a general weather alert of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, but has not specifically mentioned districts where the intensity is expected to be severe.
